Dear Families,
We have made some key changes this year to our Student Handbook. Please take an especially close look at:
1. The St. Bernard's Honor Code (page 9 - 10). Beginning with the 2022-2023 academic year, we will be implementing a community wide Honor Code.
2. Expectations for Parents and Guardians (page 10) - parents and guardians are expected to support their child’s learning and growth in conjunction with St. Bernard’s efforts.
3. Expectations for Students (page 11) - students are expected to participate willingly in their own growth and development.
4. Attendance Policies (page 14 - 18) - good attendance is fundamental for a student’s success in their education.
5. Student Discipline Policy (page 19 - 24) - there are various consequences for non-adherence to St. Bernard’s rules and expectations.
6. Dress Code (page 24 - 25). Two additions to the dress code this year.
Hats are never permitted to be worn inside the school building. This includes dress down days.
School shoes must be a solid, neutral color (including white, beige, gray, brown, black, navy, or tan). Solid colored sneakers, boat shoes, and/or dress shoes are all acceptable.
7. Student Improvement Plans (page 36) - there is help available for students struggling with academics, behavior, or truancy.
Please Sign to Acknowledge: These two acknowledgment forms must be signed and returned - a student form and a parent/legal guardian form. Both forms must be signed even if your student is over the age of 18. Students should return their signed forms in early September to Ms. Kristen Pratt in the Main Office.
We are looking forward to a great year!
Sincerely,
Ms. Gregorczyk, Associate Principal
