What is your daily schedule for the 2020-21 school year?
Students arrive at school between 7:45-8:05 and head straight to their first class.
After locker visits and morning announcements, classes begin at 8:17am.
School ends at 2:20 p.m.
After school, students can attend Enrichment Activities.
Many students head down to the Activity Center for 3:30pm sports practices.
How are your fall 2020 classes organized?
We are having in-person classes Monday-Friday. Students have a half day on Friday, to give our facilities manager a chance to clean the classrooms. Students, faculty and staff wear masks all day. Students have outdoor masks breaks after every two classes. Lunches are held outside (or spaced out on rainy days.) More information on fall 2020 can be found here.
Students take six classes per day. Theology, Math, Science, History, English, and Foreign Language are the core courses. Some students opt to take a seventh course, either a second foreign language or an elective. Juniors and seniors may choose AP classes or additional electives. More info on classes can be found here.
Do most students live in Fitchburg?
No. Our students come from 22 different communities in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Some Massachusetts cities from which our students travel are: Ashburnham, Athol, Orange, Princeton, Sterling, Westminster, Gardner, Templeton, Hubbardston, Winchendon, Pepperell, Groton, Lunenburg, Shirley, Devens, Harvard, Lunenburg, Leominster, Fitchburg. New Hampshire cities: Keene, Rindge, New Ipswich, Mason, Jaffrey, Wilton.
Does St. Bernard’s High School provide transportation?
BUS
For the 2020 – 2021 school year, STB is offering bus service for families traveling to Fitchburg from the Worcester area. This service will provide morning AND afternoon pick-up and drop-off. The annual transportation fee is $1,000.
CARPOOL
Many families choose to carpool with other STB families living in the same or nearby town. The STB Family Directory provides contact information to assist families in making carpool connections.
Do you have to be Catholic to attend St. Bernard’s High School?
No. About two-thirds of our students are Catholic, and about one-third are Protestant or other faiths. We celebrate Mass monthly during the year and we ask that all students either participate in the Liturgy, or respectfully observe the celebration. All faiths are welcome at St. Bernard's. Do you have a dress code?
Yes. Uniforms may be purchased at our online school uniform store sponsored by Tommy Hilfiger through Global Schoolwear.

Why should I attend St. Bernard’s High School?

What is the cost to attend St. Bernard’s High School?
Tuition for the 2021-22 school year is $8,250.00 for the first student, with a $1,000 discount for each additional student. What do students do for lunch at St. Bernard's?
Students bring cold lunch and eat lunch outside. On rainy days, students are spread out in the cafeteria and Media Center. In non-COVID times, we offer a daily Subway delivery and sell pizza slices on Fridays. Those lunch options are temporarily paused.
