THE NEXT CHAPTER
Our next goal is to sustain the future of St. Bernard’s High School for generations to come!
If there is any time to contribute to St. Bernard’s High School, it is now! We are asking our community to take advantage of this monumental opportunity that may never come again. A successful campaign will raise $8,000,000 to invest in the future of our school and help to provide a remarkable education to our current and future students for years to come.
HOW WILL THE ENDOWMENT FUND WORK?
These critical funds will be a bridge to the future by providing the financial resources required to meet the changing needs of our school and ensure our financial viability well into the future.
We will invest all contributions directly into our endowment fund which will benefit the school in perpetuity, providing a sustainable source of income annually.
The endowment fund will be invested with the Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts in a long-term portfolio of stocks and bonds.
The school will draw 4.5% of the average market value annually, allowing any earnings above that to remain in the fund.
WHY IS THIS AN IMPORTANT FINANCIAL MODEL?
We’re already providing top quality learning experiences for our students with highly desirable college outcomes, but your gift can help propel us further ahead with a more prudent financial model. By creating an endowment fund, we can ensure that we will have a consistent stream of revenue to support our programs and initiatives, even during challenging economic times.
Other highlights of the importance of creating an endowment fund:
Allows us to invest in our future by generating returns on the fund's assets, which can then be used to fund scholarships, faculty positions, research projects, and other important initiatives.
Helps us attract and retain top students, faculty, and staff, enhancing the school's reputation and overall quality.
Allows donors to contribute to the fund with the confidence that their donation will have a lasting impact on the school's future.
Helps our school achieve financial security in perpetuity.
HOW CAN YOU HELP TODAY?
Time is of the essence to capitalize on this opportunity! The anonymous donor has given us until June 30, 2025 to raise up to $2,000,000 in cash, securities or pledges (up to 3 years) for the endowment. We are asking our community to make the biggest investment possible to secure this truly transformational opportunity for our school.
